Who is Stephen Clarke?
Stephen Clarke rode competitively in the 70’s and 80’s, and was reserve rider for England in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He is the Judge General for Dressage for the FEI. The FEI is the International Equestrian Body who oversees all Olympic sports. He is a 5* judge, the highest level that can be attained, and as the Judge General he creates and coordinates discussion among judges ensuring that all conclusions are communicated to FEI judges.
Stephen Clarke was the President of the ground jury at the London Olympics and has been part of the judging panel at other Olympic Games as well as many World and National Championships. He is in demand across the globe as a clinician as he is well known for his sharp eye and extensive knowledge of suitable exercises. His priority is relaxation and the physical and mental wellbeing of the horse. His calm consistent approach makes it easy for riders and auditors to discuss issues and ask questions.
