The Dakota Nation Winter Fest Pow Wow will be held at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, MB, January 25 – 27, 2013.
Based out of the Manitoba Room in the Keystone Centre, the Dakota Nation Winter Fest Pow Wow is a cultural event to look forward to year round. The City of Brandon is proud to host the event once again.
Hosted by Masters of Ceremonies Ruben Littlehead (Montana, USA) and Bill Taylor (Sioux Valley), this Pow Wow features dancing and singing contests for all age categories.
Traditional, Grass, Fancy, and Jingle categories are held for Juniors, Teens, and Adult and Golden Age (men & women). Chicken dance is also included in the adult category. Top prize for Junior is $150, Teens $300, and Adult and Golden Age $700.
Singing competition is also held, with a top prize of $5000!
Host drumming is provided by Riverside Dakota (Sioux Valley) and Oak River Sioux (Sioux Valley).
Fun for the whole family, the Dakota Nation Winter Fest Pow Wow is not to be missed. Accommodation is available onsite at Canad Inns, or many neighbouring hotels and inns.
