Graham Harvey is the new Executive Director for Brandon First. With a start date of September 18th, Harvey joins the organization with a strong background in hospitality management, event planning, and sales.  Harvey replaces Jackie Nichol, who finished earlier this month after three years with Brandon First.

“Our Board of Directors is thrilled to have Graham joining our organization,” said Chris Heide, Chair of the Brandon First Board of Directors. “Graham’s leadership experience in industries with strong ties to event tourism will help Brandon continue to develop as a host destination for all types and sizes of events. He has a tremendous passion for our great city and is eager to share that with everyone.”

Born in Winnipeg, Harvey moved to Brandon as a child and has now been a Brandon resident since 1984. Heis excited to be able to promote Brandon as part of his new position. “Brandon First has seen tremendous growth and successes since the early days of the organization,” said Harvey. “I am so excited for the chance to work with the community and other stakeholders to continue building on this success to capture the great potential event tourism represents for our city. Brandon’s facilities, services, and dedicated volunteers make this an ideal city for attracting regional, provincial and national events.”

As a founding member of Brandon First, Harvey has experienced both the challenges and the excitement of helping get the organization up and running, and has also seen the progression and growth since then. These were key factors in his decision to seek the Executive Director position. In addition to many years in leadership positions with local hotels, Harvey also has experience with Robertson College as General Manager and then Campus President, InfoMetrics and The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba.

Established in 2003, Brandon First is a non-profit organization which promotes Brandon as a host destination for meetings, conventions and events.
